Simple Square can save setup time

I recently purchased the simple square with a 2' length of track. Setup was pretty simple, squaring the base with the track and tightening the 4 bolts. Of course the beauty of the TrueTrac system is that you can line up the white strip with your mark and cut without any further measuring or offset blocks. The square just adds one more dimension to the system. Saves time and improves accuracy, what more could you ask for.

True Trac Simple Square

Product works as advertised but could be improved. Tool is rough around the edges and would be more user friendly if you didn't have to screw it on the track every time you want to use it. I would recommend rounding the edges and maybe anodizing the tool to make it not only look better but feel better while using.

A great Square for the system

I purchase this squaring device last year. It was extremely easy to set up and can be quickly used. I use it on a longer track now instead of the shorter one that came with it. It stays true once it is set up due to the dovetail connectors. A excellent product for my setup. I use both a M18 Fuel 6.5" saw and a corded PORTER-CABLE 423MAG 15 Amp 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw, LEFT HANDED with dust collection for my system.

BUYER BEWARE!!!

True Trac fails to mention that this "simple square" is proprietary. It will only work with their track. It will not work with tracks made by Makita, Festool, Dewalt, Wen, etc. That vital piece of information is not readily available and therefore, after finally receiving it, I realize that it will not work with my track saw track. Perhaps if they would sell smaller connectors, we could actually use this with an actual track saw. In actuality, "TrueTrac" is not a plunge-cut type of track saw system. By design, they want you to buy a bunch of only their stuff just so you can use your circular saw as a track saw. This was my first and most likely my last dealing with this company. Their website sucks - no search bar at the top and not all of their products are readily seen. This particular piece is difficult to locate on the website I thought. Why was it not listed under "all products". Finally, hidden down at the bottom there is a search button, but again, it seems hidden. That aside, this company should clearly state that this "simple square" will only work with their track. I feel that they intentionally leave that information out. It's just shoddy all around. At least make some adapter connector piece so we can use our existing tracks.

Hi William,

Your response seems hostile and highly frustrated - For that I do apologize, as most of us use woodworking as a point of interest and retreat from the world.

We have an extremely open and generous 100% money back guarantee for situations like this, or honestly anything that comes up that can’t be resolved, so effectively you’ll be out zero dollars. A prepaid return label is always available for any order regardless of timeframe - It isn’t limited by 30, 60, or 90 day return windows.

If I or anyone here had been made aware, with either an email inquiry or phone call, it would have been a discussion of a few moments or lines to have answered directly if our square, clamps, or saw adapter work with competitive systems.

I will publish your review, along with my written response here, so we continue being transparent.

Please keep an eye out for the return label and once we receive the items back I’ll issue the refund for the full product value.

Thank you,
Jacob
